“Thank You For Being A Friend” – Golden Girls Theme Song

We are so lucky and appreciative for all the friends that come to visit us.  You all keep Duane smiling and having a great time.  He loves seeing you all and spending time with you, even if it’s just siting on the couch watching a movie!!  It makes me happy to see how much everyone loves him! Thank you!

FREEDOM

unnamed-14

We have figured out how to take the boat out by ourselves.  It takes a bit of time and A LOT of patience but it is all worth it when we are out there floating around on the lake!  We are having so much fun in the sun!  You all are welcome…well most of you are! HAHAHA

The Looks

These are the looks I get from Duane and Buddy when people are on the phone saying stupid things. They both are like WTF?!?! HAHAHA at least we don’t have to deal with those comments!!  Refer back to this post before you call us!

“If you’re gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough” – Roger Alan Wade

Sorry for all the Buddy posts but come on how dumb is he?  I know you’re all probably jealous but he is all ours!!

hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard

Buddy has neither talent nor a great work ethic.  Everyday Duane rolls out front on his scooter and we throw the tennis ball down the long driveway for Buddy.  He is good for about two throws before he is too hot, tired, thirsty, or just plain lazy to keep going.  Our driveway is super steep and even when he is done playing the ball rolls down the driveway every time he puts it down.  Today he solved the problem – it was like he invented the wheel, he was so happy to be able to lay in the shade and keep his ball secure.

tweet : the chirp of a small or young bird.

Tweeters -not the sound a bunch of small birds make, not 140 characters posted online…they are in fact some sort of tiny speakers that Duane “needed” me to replace.  WHAT??  It took about two hours for me to replace the tweet? tweeter? tweeted? (tiny speaker) in the Mastercraft next to the steering wheel.  Every time I finished one step I took a picture, went in the house, showed Duane, fixed what I did wrong, took another picture, listened to the next instruction, went outside, tried to accomplish that step, took a picture….the viscous cycle continued and continued.  But hey now I can replace your tweeter if you need me to.  Maybe.

And seriously I can’t tell the difference between the one I replaced and the new one.  I think it may have just been busy work.

We Are So Lucky

unnamed-20

We are seriously so lucky.  We live in an amazing city, where the weather is great and we have a beautiful lake we can take the boats out on whenever we want.  We the best friends that come and visit us and make sure that Duane is still having fun doing what he loves.  We have above wonderful  families that help us whenever we need, will show up in a moments notice and are constantly supporting our choices.  We also have a super cool dog that is forever making us laugh.

We are seriously so lucky!

We’re Farming Now

We are officially farmers now…I’ve always wanted to grow some of my own food so we decided to plant a garden.  When my dad was here last month he built a planter and this week we planted.  I ordered local seeds from Tucson,  hooked up my plow and sowed the seeds.  Stay tuned for updates – it’s been three days and I have no sign of life yet!
